Frequently asked questions

Will I have to remove my clothes during a treatment?

No, you will remain fully clothed throughout the session. If you are comfortable doing so you will be asked to remove your socks during the early part of the treatment.

What should I wear?

We invite you to come with a set of clean, loose/stretchy clothing that you can be comfortable in. For example, leggings or lightweight jogging bottoms and a long-sleeved t-shirt would work. I would also recommend bringing an additional layer.

Please note, to mitigate Covid-19 we ask that you come WITH, not wearing, this set of clothing and you will be asked to change into on site to maintain Covid-safe conditions. You can then choose to change back into other clothes before you leave if you prefer.

Will I have to wear a mask during my visit?

In the current climate and in accordance with guidelines I ask that clients wear a suitable face covering during a treatment.

Will you be wearing a mask during my visit?

In the current climate and in accordance with guidelines I will be wearing a face covering during your treatment. During the consultation phase of the session I will most likely wear a visor so that communication remains clear and visible and will then change into a clean face mask to commence the hands-on treatment.

What other measures are in place in relation to Covid-19?

I currently only see 1 client on any given day. Contact points are sanitised prior to your arrival and Neals Yard Organic hand sanitiser will be provided for your use. Upon arrival I will run through a Covid-safe check-list with you to confirm that you are confident that you’ve had no contact with Covid-19 or are showing any symptoms. Clean sheets, blankets and cushion covers are used for each client. You will be asked to register for Track & Trace. The treatment room will be well ventilated with windows open but a heated blanket will be used under the treatment mat, which, with blankets on top, means you’ll remain warm and comfortable.

What is Thai Massage a good treatment for?

If you experience any range of symptoms such as digestive issues, lower back pain, stiff hips, aches and pains, low mood, stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression, or similar, Thai Massage can be of great benefit in finding relief from some of these.

Will I be warm enough?

Yes, I will make sure of it. It is common for your body temperature to cool during a treatment, hence I recommend bringing an additional layer. I also use a heated underblanket and keep you covered with lovely soft warm blankets to keep you cosy.

Will I get too hot?

No. I know that being cold can sometimes be the least of your worries. If you are more prone to getting a little too warm we’ll have fresh air ventilating the room at all times.

How long should I allow for my treatment?

Depending on how long a session you have booked I would recommend allowing an additional 15-20mins if you’re able to. This allows you to enjoy the calm state I hope to leave you in at the end of a treatment and gives you time to ‘come round’ fully before stepping back into daily life. I don’t rush my clients and generally leave them to stay warm and cosy under blankets and perhaps drift off for a little bit if they need to.

Can I use the toilet during my visit?

You are welcome to use the bathroom at any point during your visit, even if we need to pause the treatment. Please note the bathroom is currently accessed via a flight of stairs (level wheelchair-accessible facilities are on their way though in late 2021). Bathroom facilities will have been cleaned and sanitised prior to your arrival.

Are you wheelchair accessible?

Currently we are not due to bathroom facilties being upstairs althought the massage studio itself is level access. From Autumn 2021 new wheelchair accessible facilities will be complete so that I can support those with specific needs.

How can I pay?

Treatments can be paid for by the booking system or via card at the end of your treatment.

Can I drive after a treatment?

Yes. As long as you feel fully awake. I give clients time to fully ‘come round’ after a treatment and offer a small snack of nuts, chocolate or fruit in case your blood sugar needs a little boost.
